Privacy Policy

Version of 30 October 2026 (evening)

In short: you tell Who2Meet who you would like to meet and a little about yourself, and it suggests the people at the event most worth your meeting. Other attendees see only what you agree to share. Recognising faces in photos is your choice, and the photos of the room you analyse stay on your phone. You can see, change or delete what we hold at any time under Menu → My account, or by writing to [email protected].

Who we are

Who2Meet is provided by Tarsh Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 04242106). In this policy "we" and "us" mean Tarsh Ltd. For questions about your information, write to [email protected].

When an event organiser uses Who2Meet for their event, the organiser also sees the information you give for that event, so that they can run it and make introductions. The organiser is responsible for how they use it.

The demonstration event

Heroes Summit is a demonstration. Its famous guests are invented profiles, written for the demonstration (apart from David Tarsh, who runs Who2Meet). If you sign up to try it, the details you give about yourself are real, and we look after them exactly as this policy says.

What we collect

WhatWhy
Your name, email address and password (the password is stored only in a scrambled form we cannot read)Your account, and signing in
Who you would like to meet at the event (your event aspirations), and the conversation with Who2Meet's assistant in which you said soTo choose your introductions, and to decide which of them matter most to you
Any personal interests you choose to give: a sport, hobby or pastime, or an unusual life experience (optional)To introduce you to people who share them
Your job title, organisation, mobile number, WhatsApp number, links and social media accountsTo choose your introductions and, only where you agree, so the people you are introduced to can contact you
Your CV, professional biography or LinkedIn profile, if you add one, and the text read from itTo choose your introductions and to draft your description
Your description (up to 25 words), once you approve itShown to other attendees when Who2Meet has no introduction to explain
Your display photoShown to the people you are introduced to, so they can find you
Two selfies and a face template made from them - only if you agree to "Recognise me in photos"So other attendees' phones can recognise you in photos of the room
The agreements you give, with their exact wording and when you gave themTo show what you agreed to
Your meeting record (who you met, your star rating and notes) and the people you set aside, with any reason you gaveSo Who2Meet does not suggest them again, on any phone or computer you sign in on, and to learn which introductions work
How you use the app: which screens you open, which introductions you tap, the photos you check (never the photos themselves) and who was recognised in them, whose details you open, and the messages and meetings that follow, each with the time; and the kind of phone or browser you useTo make Who2Meet work better, to improve the introductions it suggests, and to report to the organiser how useful it was
If the event's organiser limits sign-up to the people it invites: your email address, from the organiser's invitation listOnly to check that you are invited when you sign up
If the event's organiser asks everyone to confirm their email address: that you did so with a code we emailed you, and whenOnly to show that the address is yours, so you are not asked again
For prospective event organisers at the demonstration: your mobile number, checked by a texted codeSo we can call you about using Who2Meet at your events, as you agreed

Your name and email address are kept from the first screen of sign-up, because that is when your account is made, together with how far you have got. Everything else you enter during sign-up is kept only on your own phone or computer until you give your agreements at the last step, with two exceptions. The artificial intelligence steps described below send the text they need, through our server, to the AI service for its answer, and we do not keep that text, apart from the conversation about who you would like to meet, which is kept with the rest of your sign-up once you finish it. And if you choose to carry your sign-up from your phone to a computer, what you have entered so far is kept for you alone until you finish, and deleted as soon as you do. A registration that is started but never finished is deleted after the event.

Sensitive information

Who2Meet's assistant does not ask about health, religion or beliefs, politics, ethnic origin, sexuality or other sensitive matters, and you never have to give any of them. You are free to mention them in your conversation or your personal interests if you wish. If you do, you give your explicit consent for us to keep that information with your sign-up and for the event's organisers to see it. We do not normally match people on such information. Some events are about these very matters (for example a medical event, or a gathering of people of different faiths); where an organiser wants it used for introductions, the event's sign-up page will say so before you start, and it is used only for that event. You can withdraw your consent, and ask us to delete the information, the conversation or any part of it, at any time.

Personal interests

If you choose to give personal interests (a sport, hobby or pastime, or a very unusual life experience), Who2Meet may introduce you to people who share them, and may mention the interest to them as the reason. They are optional, and you can ask us to remove them at any time. If you leave the choice of who to meet to Who2Meet, it suggests the people who would most value meeting you and those with the fewest introductions so far.

Photos and faces

A face template is a set of numbers that describes a face. The law treats it as biometric data, so we make and keep yours only with your explicit agreement ("Recognise me in photos"). You can withdraw it at any time under My account: your selfies and face template are then deleted, and you keep all your introductions.

When you analyse a photo of the room, the recognising is done on your own phone. The photo is not sent to us: only a record that it was checked, who was recognised in it, and when.

Your meeting notes

Your phone scrambles each meeting note before sending it to us, with a key of your own, so we hold only scrambled text, and your phone unscrambles it when you open it on any phone or computer you sign in on. Other attendees and the event's organisers cannot read your notes, and they never appear in any report. We keep the keys so that we can learn from notes to improve the introductions Who2Meet suggests. The one exception is the Heroes Summit: as a product demonstration rather than a real event, meeting notes made there by real and fictitious delegates can be seen.

Artificial intelligence

Some steps use an artificial intelligence service (Claude, provided by Anthropic) to help: the short conversation about who you would like to meet, checking what you wrote about it, drafting and tidying your description, searching public web pages for your LinkedIn profile and social media accounts from your name, organisation and job title, and choosing your introductions and writing why each is worth making. For choosing introductions, what you gave for the event is sent, with what the other attendees gave. Only the text needed for that step is sent. Anything the search finds is offered to you to confirm or reject; nothing is used about you until you say it is yours. Anthropic does not use this text to train its models.

Who can see your information

We never sell your information.

Companies that run parts of Who2Meet for us

Some of these companies are based in the United States. Where your information leaves the UK, it is protected by the safeguards UK law requires, such as the UK's approved contract terms.

How long we keep it

You choose when you sign up:

Your selfies and face template are deleted as soon as you withdraw "Recognise me in photos". If we ask you to re-confirm it for a new event and you do not answer, we delete your selfies and face template when that event ends. When you leave an event, your details, photos and agreements for it are deleted. When you delete your account, everything we hold about you is deleted.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to have a copy to take elsewhere, and to object to how we use it. You can withdraw any agreement at any time; withdrawing one removes only what it covers. Most of this you can do yourself under Menu → My account; for anything else, write to [email protected]. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes

If we change this policy, the new version will be shown here with its date. If a change affects what you agreed to, we will ask you again.
